Overview
Lead is a dense, soft and malleable metal known for its excellent corrosion resistance, radiation shielding properties and low melting point. Although pure lead is quite soft, it becomes more useful when alloyed with elements such as antimony, tin, calcium or silver. Lead alloys are widely used in batteries, radiation protection, cable sheathing and soldering materials.
